Particle swarm optimization (PSO) originated from different fields, they are different from each other in complex adaptive system (CAS). CAS theory was formally put forward by the Netherlands in 1994 and later collected in his book (1995). Particle swarm optimization algorithm is inspired by the main ideas of CAS and from Hepner and Grenander's biological population model (Hepner and Grenander, 1990). In a complex adaptive system, like a flock of birds, as shown in Figure 1, each member acts as an adaptive agent and CAS member is able to communicate with other agents in the environment. In the process of communication, they will 'learn' or 'accumulate experience. On this basis, the agent can change its structure and behavior. This process, for example, in the birds system, which is the basis of particle swarm optimization algorithm, includes the production of a new generation (with young birds), the emergence of differentiation and diversity (the birds are divided into many small groups) and the discovery of new topics (the discovery of new food). The research of particle swarm optimization algorithm has entered the CAS system social system.
