In music, instruments are essential to properly adjust, and they have to sound very clean alone or along with other instruments. For the tuning process, we need a tuner that is accurate, real-time and easy to handle. Before I have studied the execution properties of guitar and violin based sound, then I have reviewed the common tempering methods and adjustment plans. To determine the basic frequency of sound, I collected and studied pitch detection methods, and developed a fast and accurate frequency detection method based on the characteristics of the selected instrument. During the task, I implemented a tuner in the MATLAB environment to extract the sound of an instrument, with the external sound card and microphone. If there is an acoustic instrument, then take the operation on the sample, it will detect the frequency and display the information needed for adjustment on a graphical user interface. The following user selected parameters: frequency of concert pitch, tempering method, and instrument adjustment plan, it will generate frequency scale, compare the measured frequency, and display the name of the measured frequency, the nearest precise pitch and cent, direction difference, from that difference and indicate whether to detect pitch period corresponding with pitch from optimization scheme.
