A unitary ESPRIT algorithm is proposed for uniform planar array in the two-dimensional direction of arrival (DOA) estimation problem. First of all, the unitary matrix the received signal covariance matrix is transformed to the real valued matrix and hence eigenvalues decomposition only in the real domain, effectively reduce the computational complexity, then the relationship between the real signal subspace and orientation matrix and complex matrix and the characteristic value decomposition of two-dimensional direction of arrival (DOA) automatic matching estimator by using real signal subspace is constructed. We assume that values are less than or equal to 0.3 and the real angle difference of azimuth and elevation estimation, that the experiment is successful.
