Usually genetic algorithm based on binary encoding form, but the form is not suitable for process design and how to design an appropriate encoding and crossover and mutation are the subject of this to solve the problem. The objectives reached in the project: (1) understand the characteristics of various conventional processing technology and electrical discharge machining technology; (2) learn basic principles of genetic algorithm and its application; (3) determine the encoded form of GA, crossover and mutation, as well as the fitness function; (4) learn the basics about VC programming; the main content: (1) summary of features of various processing methods, rules for determining the technology selection process; (2) set genetic algorithm encoding, crossover and mutation, as well as the fitness function; (3) programming.
