In this paper, a novel interference coordination scheme based on Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA) for mitigating inter-cell interference in Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular systems is presented. In both OFDMA and SC-FDMA systems, inter-cell interference is the most important interference source.

One of the most importantperformance-limiting factors in 4G future wireless systems, which limits the achievable data rates, isinterference whether intra- or inter-cell. While intra-cell interference can be easily mitigated through the useof orthogonal resources (such as frequencies (in OFDM) or codes (in CDMA)), decreasing the inter-cellinterference remains a difficult task that needs to be addressed.
