Steganographyis a one of the technique for information hiding. With the help ofsteganography people can communicate secretly. It involves communicating secretdata in an appropriate multimedia carrier such as Text, Image, audio, and videofiles. The main motive of steganography is to ensure that the transmittedmessage is completely hidden inside the cover signal, and thereby ensuring that the message isaccessible only by the intended receiverand not by any intruders or unauthorized parties. The main purpose of thisresearch is to propose a novel and secure high-capacity image steganographytechnique with the help of wavelet transform with acceptable levels of imperceptibility and high level of overall security.

Reversable data hiding

A content owner encrypts the original image usingan encryption key, and a data-hider can embed additional data into theencrypted image using a data-hiding key though the receiver does not know theoriginal content. With an encrypted image containing additional data, areceiver may first decrypt it according to the encryption key, and then extractthe embedded data and recover the original image according to the data-hidingkey. <span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"">In the scheme, the data extraction is notseparable from the content decryption. In other words, the additional data mustbe extracted from the decrypted image, so that the principal content oforiginal image is revealed before data extraction, and, if someone has thedata-hiding key but not the encryption key, receiver cannot extract anyinformation from the encrypted image containing additional data.
