Speckle Noise Reduction in Ultrasound Images by Wa
no vote
In medical image processing, image denoising has become a very essential exercise all through the diagnose. Arbitration between the perpetuation of useful diagnostic information and noise suppression must be treasured in medical images. In general we rely on the intervention of a proficient to control the quality of processed images. In certain cases, for instance in Ultrasound images, the noise can restrain information which is valuable for the general practitioner. Consequently medical images are very inconsistent, and it is crucial to operate case to case. This paper presents a wavelet-based thresholding scheme for noise suppression in ultrasound images. Quantitative and qualitative comparisons of the results obtained by the proposed method with the results achieved from the other speckle noise reduction techniques demonstrate its higher performance for speckle reduction

An Image Fusion Approach Based on Markov Random Fi
no vote
Markov random field (MRF) models are powerful tools to model image characteristics accurately and have been successfully applied to a large number of image processing applications. This paper investigates the problem of fusion of remote sensing images, e.g., multispectral image fusion, based on MRF models and incorporates the contextual constraints via MRF models into the fusion model. Fusion algorithms under the maximum a posteriori criterion are developed to search for solutions. Our algorithm is applicable to both multiscale decomposition (MD)- based image fusion and non-MD-based image fusion. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the improvement of fusion performance by our algorithms.

Liver Tumor Diagnosis by Gray Level and Contourlet
4.0
Liver cancer is life threatening and occurs without prewarning, considered one of the most common internal malignancies worldwide. Abnormal growths on the liver are called liver tumors, which could be both benign and malignant. Benign tenors do not really cause harm to one's health whereas malignant tumors can be dangerous. Hence, it is necessary to detect and diagnose malignant twnors, so that early treatment can save many lives. However, early diagnosis requires a large volume of abdominal CT images to be interpreted which is laborious and a repetitive task. In order to introduce a quantitative and objective analysis and to speed up analysis times, it is possible to develop a CAD tool that automatically analyzes liver tumours. A Robust Algorithm for Shadow Removal of Foregroun
4.0
We proposed an accurate algorithm to prevent moving shadows from being misclassified as part of moving objects in video target segmentation in this paper. Firstly, moving objects were achieved through background subtraction using adaptive Gaussian mixture models. Then, moving shadows were eliminated by a shadow detection algorithm. Finally, we performed a morphological reconstruction algorithm to recover the foreground distorted after shadow removal process. The experimental results proved its validity and accuracy in various fixed outdoor video scenes.

Removal High Density Salt & Pepper Noise in quick
no vote
In the Transmission of images over channels, Images are corrupted by salt and pepper noise, due to faulty communications. Salt and Pepper noise is also referred to as Impulse noise. The objective of filtering is to remove the impulses so that the noise free image is fully recovered with minimum signal distortion. The best-known and most widely used non-linear digital filters, based on order statistics are median filters. Median filters are known for their capability to remove impulse noise without damaging the edges. Median filters are known for their capability to remove impulse noise as well as preserve the edges.

Color Image Enhancement with a Human Visual System
no vote
Image enhancement technology is one of the basic technologies in the field of image processing. The purpose of image enhancement is to improve the interpretability of information or perceive the human audience in the image, or provide better input for other automatic image processing technologies. In recent years, gray image enhancement technology has developed rapidly. These algorithms have a certain effect of gray image enhancement. However, we usually deal with color images in our daily life. Due to many factors, such as the limited dynamic range, the influence of lighting and the display device, the quality of the image obtained decreases, which means that many important information is difficult to be told to the eyes. At the same time, it is not suitable for direct use of gray image enhancement technology of color image. Therefore, we need to develop color image enhancement technology to deal with the problem. Compared with gray image, color image still has color information, so the color image is more vivid than gray image. Now, many color image enhancement algorithms have been proposed based on the characteristics of human vision. Retinex is an effective technology for color image enhancement, which can produce good enhancement effect. However, the enhanced image has color distortion and complicated calculation. A robust color image enhancement algorithm. The algorithm can improve the color image without distortion, but the edge of the color image can not be handled well. The algorithm uses Gaussian filter to estimate the background image. Gaussian kernel function is isotropic, which will lead to inaccurate estimation of background image, resulting in halo phenomenon. The proposed algorithm consists of three main parts: (1) obtaining brightness image and background image, (2) adaptive adjustment, (3) color restoration.

SVD-based digital image watermarking using complex
no vote
A new robust method of non-blind image watermarking is proposed in this paper. The suggested method is performed by modification on singular value decomposition (SVD) of images in Complex Wavelet Transform (CWT) domain while CWT provides higher capacity than the real wavelet domain. Modification of the appropriate sub-bands leads to a watermarking scheme which favourably preserves the quality. The additional advantage of the proposed technique is its robustness against the most of common attacks. Analysis and experimental results show much improved performance of the proposed method in comparison with the pure SVD-based as well as hybrid methods (e.g. DWT-SVD as the recent best SVD-based scheme).

Satellite Image Contrast Enhancement Using Discret
no vote
A new satellite image contrast enhancement technique based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and singular value decomposition (SVD) are proposed. The technique decomposes the image into four input frequencies for subband decomposition by using discrete wavelet transform and estimated low noise—— Then, it is compared with the conventional image equalization techniques, such as general histogram equalization and local histogram equalization, and brightness preserving dynamic histogram equalization and singular value equalization. The experimental results show that this method is superior to conventional and advanced technology.

IMAGE RETRIEVAL USING BOTH COLOR AND TEXTURE FEATU
4.0
This PROJECT has a further exploration and study of visual feature extraction. According to the HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) color space, the work of color feature extraction is finished, the process is as follows: quantifying the color space in non-equal intervals, constructing one dimension feature vector and representing the color feature by cumulative histogram. Similarly, the work of texture feature extraction is obtained by using gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) or color co-occurrence matrix (CCM). Through the quantification of HSV color space, we combine color features and GLCM as well as CCM separately. Depending on the former, image retrieval based on multi-feature fusion is achieved by using normalized Euclidean distance classifier. Through the image retrieval experiment, indicate that the use of color features and texture based on CCM has obvious advantage.

CMOS FULL-ADDERS DESIGN USING DPL LOGIC
no vote
We present two high-speed and low-power full-adder cells designed with an alternative internal logic structure and pass-transistor logic styles that lead to have a reduced power-delay product (PDP). We carried out a comparison against other full-adders reported as having a low PDP, in terms of speed, power consumption and area. All the full-adders were designed with a 0.18- m CMOS technology, and were tested using a comprehensive test bench that allowed to measure the current taken from the full-adder inputs, besides the current provided from the power-supply. Post-layout simulations show that the proposed full-adders outperform its counterparts exhibiting an average PDP advantage of 80%, with only 40% of relative area. <
