COGNITIVE RADIO BASED VEHICULAR COMMUNICATION IN A
no vote
Cognitive network communication is a promising technique for efficient utilization of scarce radio resources and guaranteeing quality of services (QoS) in industrial wireless networks. This project is aimed at introducing network heterogeneity to the existing WSN in an effort to reduce the problem of over crowdedness of wireless devices in the ISM band. For heterogeneity to be of an advantage for process monitoring in industry there is need to incorporate cognitive radio technology to the sensors so as to provide Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA). In this project we study the applicability of cognitive radios in the harsh industrial environment characterised by multiple obstacles, interference produced by heavy machinery and interference caused by other communicating devices. The evaluation is conducted in the ISM band (2.4 GHz), cellular band (1.9 GHz) and Wi-Fi band (5GHz). Opt

Throughput Throughput is a measure of average behavior of a communication system. A system can have a high throughput and still there are nodes that are not allowed to transmit (the channel access delay extends beyond the deadline of the packet and packets are dropped at receiver before transmitted). Further, throughput is difficult to define for broadcast communication because all packets have multiple receivers ETSI TR 102 861, (2012). Bit Error Rate (BER)
