Optimization means obtaining best results by minimizing or maximizing a certain function. In most of the engineering activities the objective could be minimize the production or maximize the efficiency or maximize the profit. For example minimize the aircraft weight, determining the optimal trajectory of space vehicles, designing of bulldozers, turbines, pumps, controlling, scheduling, optimal operation, control of power plants and control power system etc. Optimization algorithms are classified into two main categories conventional optimization algorithms and evolutionary optimization algorithm. Conventional optimization algorithms are classified into linear programming based method, non-linear based methods, separable programming based methods and mixed integer programming based methods.

Optimization is an ability of obtaining optimum result under given conditions. In design, construction and maintenance of any general system, Engineers have to decide many technological and administrative decisions at several stages. The ultimate objective of all such decisions is to either maximize the desired profit or to minimize the attempt or the time required. This paper presents an efficient and reliable refined shuffled frog leaping algorithm (RSFLA) for solving the nonlinear constrained optimization problems. The proposed evolutionary algorithm, a real coded shuffled frog leaping algorithm combined with random mutation, synergistically combined with crossover is very efficient in solving constrained optimization problems in terms of accuracy of the solution and computation time and it can do better than other algorithms. This project deals with study of a Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulated Inverter and all the parameters used to reduce the harmonics and give the good efficiency of the inverter. The project will be commenced by a basic understanding of the circuitry of the SPWM Inverter using arduino, the components used in its design and the reason for choosing such components in this circuitry. Generally, only single phase SPWM inverters are used industrially, and certain instabilities have been found in their operation. With improper selection of system parameters, the inverter suffers different type of instabilities and many types of harmonics. Our attempt will be to observe the same for three phase SPWM inverter and analyze its parameters used to get a pure sinusoidal output waveform and fewer harmonic in its output current and voltage waveform. Three phase inverters are essential in many industrial applications for providing adjustable-frequency power.
