Nymble- Blocking Misbehaving Users in Anonymous Ne

Anonymous networks, such as tor, allow users to hide the IP addresses of clients accessing private Internet services from servers by using a series of routers. However, the success of this network is limited by the use of anonymous abuse, such as defacing users of popular web sites. Web site administrators often rely on IP address to block and disable users who have misbehaved, but it is unrealistic to block IP address if abuser routes through anonymous network. As a result, the administrator prevents all known exit nodes from anonymizing the network, denies anonymous access, misbehaves and shows users' praise. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes nymble. In a system, the server can "blacklist" misbehaving users, so as to prevent users without damaging their anonymity. Our system is therefore agnostic to different server defined misconduct - the server can blacklist users for whatever reason, and keep the privacy of the blacklisted users.
