This example shows how to load a 3D image into VTK and then reformat that image into a different orientation for viewing.
in the code the volume is displayed using a ray-cast alpha compositing. ray-casting is achieved by a ray cast mapper. the opacity transfer function is used to control the opacity of different tissues. the volume property attaches the color and opacity functions to the volume, and sets other volume properties. the interpolation should be set to linear to do high quality rendering. the impact of the shading can be decreased by increasing the Ambient coefficient while decreasing the Diffuse and specular coefficients, the VTK Volume is a VTKProp3D, equivalent to an vtkActor w
