Live555 is a provider of streaming media solutions for cross-platform C ++ open source project, which implements support for standard streaming protocols such as RTP / RTCP, RTSP, SIP, etc.. Live555 streams to achieve a variety of audio and video encoding formats of audio and video data, receiving and processing and other support, including MPEG, H.263 +, DV, JPEG video and a variety of audio coding. At the same time due to good design, Live555 is very easy to extend support for other formats. Currently, Live555 has been used to implement a variety of streaming media player functions such as VLC (VideoLan), MPlayer. The project consists of four basic source code libraries, as well as a variety of test code IVE555 Media Server. Four basic libraries are UsageEnvironment & TaskScheduler, groupsock, liveMedia, BasicUsageEnvironment.
